The hydraulic pool cleaner is automatic robots powered by hydropower. Basic characteristics of a hydraulic cleaner
Hydraulic cleaners are easy to install and use. They collect the dirt from the bottom of the pool, installed in the filtration circuit of the pool. The waste that is collected in the pre-filter of the pump or sent to the skimmer basket of the pool.

They usually require the installation of an extra pump (which will consume more electricity) and have filter bags to hold solid waste. In this way, they do not reach the pre-filter of the pump.
To work well, they need a high flow that allows movement, then they are not suitable for any type of pool, or you need, as we have said, additional pumps near the filtration equipment.
For its operation, in addition to the robot itself, hoses are needed, automatic flow regulation valve (or flow meter if it is models more than three years ago) and supplements and adapters for the connection. They are indispensable accessories.
When it is going to be used, it is necessary to start the filtration system of the pool, making sure that the pre-filter of the pump is clean. The return nozzles of the walls must be oriented correctly, downwards.
Once the pool has been prepared, the necessary lengths of hose must be connected so that they reach the corner farthest from the pool from the point of connection. You must also use the adapters to connect the device later.
Then the equipment is installed, either using a suction socket or one of the skimmers in the pool. In each case, the appropriate connectors must be used, which must come with the equipment, in addition to the flow regulation valve. It must be submerged in the water and connected to the hose to start working.

Why choose a hydraulic?
Although the hydraulic cleaner has its limitations compared to other models, they work autonomously and do not require electrical power. In addition, they are much more affordable and do not need specific programming, since it moves using the force of the pump, which is directed randomly.
It is an alternative solution to the electric, whose necessary investment does not convince everyone. It can be used as a complement to the manual cleaner, which can clean walls and bottom more deeply, but whose use could be much more spaced in time thanks to the regular performance of the hydraulic model. It depends, in any case, on the characteristics of the pool.
In addition, it is a more sustainable alternative (although it depends on the model) and it can last longer.

There are cleaners that only work well in removable pools and others that only do so in buried areas, as long as they do not exceed a certain length and capacity. It is an aspect that you must take into account along with the shape of the glass (rectangular, round …), although the coating material is not usually a problem for this type of cleaners.
The type of device
Whether they are pressure or propulsion, they use a type of technology that can be more or less effective (even more or less noisy), which you must also share with the characteristics of the pool.
Not all available options can clean bottom and walls, even fewer steps in and out to the pool. In fact, there are some that get stuck easily when encountering an obstacle, so if your glass has a lot of capacity or has them, you’d better look at other possibilities.
